Something Like That

About

Nick Sadler’s whole life was built around him playing professional hockey. Touted as the ‘next one’ when he was drafted all those years ago, injuries and bad luck have turned his career into one massive failure. But if he can just win a championship, no one will remember all the other stuff. He just needs his body to co-operate and to find someone to help him, even if it’s against doctor’s orders.

Alex Dumas has had to fight for everything ever since she announced that she was pregnant at the age of 17 and her parents threw her out. But she’s never regretted it, because it gave her, Emily, her daughter. And made her realize she can only ever count on herself. But, now that Emily’s a teenager, it’s time she kicks her own dreams into high gear. And then Nick Sadler walks through her door, looking for a strength and conditioning coach to get him back in game shape after surgery. Taking him on as a client would throw her business right in the spotlight, just when she needs it the most.

Nick turns out to be the perfect client. He listens, never complains and is always ready to take on whatever challenge she throws at him. It also helps that he and Emily have bonded. And Emily’s not the only one that’s smitten. Not that Alex would ever do anything. Relationships are way too complicated and that’s the last thing she needs. But when Nick shows that he’s interested in something outside of their working relationship, Alex needs to decide if she’s willing to risk her heart one more time.
