Something Like That

About

Nick Sadler's whole life has been built around playing professional hockey. Being the best and winning at all costs. Too bad injuries and bad luck have turned his career into one massive failure. But, if he can just win a championship, no one will remember all the other stuff. He just needs to get his body back in game shape before the playoffs and he can prove he’s not the screw up everyone thinks he is. He just needs to focus and not get distracted.

Alex Dumas learned she could only ever count on herself when she announced that she was pregnant as a teen and her parents threw her out. She worked hard to scrape out a life for her and her daughter, and now it’s time to take things to the next level. Making her new clinic a success.

And then Nick Sadler walks through her door, looking for a strength and conditioning coach to help get him in shape after surgery. Taking him on as a client is lucrative, but also comes with a cost: feelings she’d thought had died long ago. Not that she’d ever act on them. Relationships are way too complicated and the last thing she needs.

But when Nick shows that he’s interested in something outside of their working relationship, Alex needs to decide if she’s willing to risk her heart one more time.
